Stylish Name Generator

Type your name once and this stylish name generator turns it into dozens of decorated nicknames with symbols like ꧁ ꧂, 亗 and ★. Pick your game to see only the names that fit, then tap to copy.

How to use the stylish name generator

  1. Type your name or nickname in the box. Short names of four to eight letters give you the most choices.
  2. Choose your game or app in the length filter, for example Free Fire, BGMI, Roblox or Fortnite. Versions that are too long for that name field are hidden.
  3. Scroll the results. Each one mixes a letter style with a frame or symbol.
  4. Out of ideas? Press "random name ideas" for a fresh batch of nicknames to start from.
  5. Tap any name to copy it, then paste it into the game's name box and look at the preview before you confirm anything.

Think of it as a nickname generator built for gamers: everything runs in your browser, there is no app to install and no account to create, and it works the same on Android and iPhone.

What makes a stylish nickname

Every name style, however fancy, is built from three simple parts:

  • A letter style. Your letters are swapped for special Unicode characters, such as small caps (ꜱʜᴀᴅᴏᴡ) or bold gothic (𝕾𝖍𝖆𝖉𝖔𝖜). These are characters, not a font file, so the style stays when you paste the name somewhere else.
  • A decoration. Symbols placed around the name, such as the royal frame in ꧁༒☬ ꜱʜᴀᴅᴏᴡ ☬༒꧂ or the Japanese-style tag in 亗 ꜱʜᴀᴅᴏᴡ 亗.
  • Spacing. A normal or invisible space between the symbol and the name, so it doesn't look cramped.

The best names use one strong idea. A big frame plus glitch marks plus emoji usually looks messy inside a small name tag, and it eats your character limit fast.

Stylish name ideas with symbols

Here are some cool names with symbols to show what each style family looks like. Put your own name in the tool to get the full set.

For duo or couple names, use the same frame on two names, like ☾ ʀᴀʜᴜʟ ☽ and ☾ ʀɪʏᴀ ☽. For a squad, everyone can add the same small symbol, such as 亗 or ツ, so teammates spot each other in the kill feed.

Stylish name for games: check the length first

Every game and app has its own limit. These are the current limits for the most popular name fields, at the time of writing:

Game or appFieldLimit (about)
Free FireNickname12 characters
BGMIPlayer name14 characters
RobloxDisplay name20 characters
FortniteEpic display name16 characters
InstagramName30 characters
DiscordDisplay name32 characters

Two things catch people out. First, decorations count: the royal frame alone uses about eight characters, so a long name inside it won't fit. Second, some fancy letters count as two. Letters like 𝓢 come from a far part of Unicode, and many systems count each one double, while small caps usually count as one. The length filter counts the strict way, but games change their rules, so the in-game screen always has the final say.

Test before you pay for a name change

In many games a rename is not free. Free Fire uses diamonds or a name change card, BGMI uses a rename card bought with UC, and changing a Roblox username costs Robux. Before you spend anything, paste the new name into the rename box and study the preview. Does every symbol show, or do you see boxes and question marks? Does the game accept it at all? Epic name changes for Fortnite are free, but each change locks your name for two weeks, so a bad pick still costs you.

If a name is already taken, a decorated version is often still free, because ★Raj★ and Raj are different names to the game. Just don't copy a famous player's name exactly; that can look like impersonation.

The invisible space tip

The tool has an invisible-space helper. It gives you a blank character that looks like a space but isn't a normal one. Players use it to add a gap where a game deletes ordinary spaces, or to make a name that looks empty. It is a gamble: games patch these tricks, some reject the character, and a blank name makes it hard for friends to find you. The invisible character page explains which blank characters work where.

Why some symbols turn into boxes in games

Your phone and your game use different fonts. Your keyboard may show ꧁ perfectly, but if the game's built-in font doesn't include that character, it draws an empty box or a question mark instead. That is why a name can look great in WhatsApp and broken in the lobby. Small caps, ★, ツ and 亗 are often safer than cursive or double-struck letters, but every game is different. For more characters to try, browse the copy and paste symbols page.

Want a different style on each word, or your name for Instagram and WhatsApp too? The Name and Bio Builder and the stylish fonts page have more options. Keep a plain version of your name in your bio so friends can search for you, because screen readers and search boxes often can't read fancy letters.

Frequently asked questions

Is this stylish name maker free?

Yes. You can make and copy as many names as you like without signing up. The only costs are inside games, when the game charges for a name change.

Which symbols work in most games?

Simple ones work most often: small caps, ★, ツ, 亗 and the ꧁ ꧂ wings. Emoji, glitch text and cursive letters are refused or shown as boxes more often. No symbol is guaranteed, so test in the game first.

Why does my stylish name show boxes or question marks?

The game's font doesn't have that character. Try a simpler style from the tool, or remove the one symbol that turns into a box.

My name looks short. Why does the game say it is too long?

Symbols and spaces count as characters, and many fancy letters count as two. A short name in a big frame can go over the limit. Use the length filter for your game to see only versions that fit.

Can I use the same stylish name on Instagram and WhatsApp?

Usually yes. Instagram's Name field and WhatsApp's name accept most of these characters. Instagram usernames are different and only allow letters, numbers, periods and underscores.

How do I type ꧁ ꧂ on my phone without copying?

Phone keyboards don't include these symbols. Copy them once from here, then save them as a text shortcut in your keyboard settings so you can type them quickly later.
