How to use the fancy text generator
- Type a name, word or short line in the box above. Every style updates as you type.
- This page opens on the decorated styles. Scroll through them, or tap another category chip to see plain font styles.
- Use the search box to narrow things down by mood, for example "cute" or "gothic".
- Tap a card to copy it. "Copied ✓" means it is on your clipboard.
- Paste it into your bio, caption, chat or name field.
Found a frame you love? Tap ☆ to keep it at the top. To change the frame, mix two fonts or add emoji, tap Build and finish it in the Name & Bio Builder.
Font style vs decoration: what is the difference?
People say "fancy text" or "fancy writing" for two different things. Think of this page as a text decorator: knowing which part is which helps you build exactly the look you want.
- A font style swaps every letter for a lookalike character, so a plain name turns into fancy letters in cursive, bold or gothic.
- A decoration adds symbols around or between the letters without changing the letters themselves.
Most of the decorated text you see on profiles is both at once: a font style in the middle and a decoration on each side.
| What you add | Result | What changed |
|---|---|---|
| Font style only | 𝓜𝓪𝔂𝓪 | Each letter is now bold cursive |
| Style + wings | ꧁༺ 𝓜𝓪𝔂𝓪 ༻꧂ | Same letters, now framed with wings |
| Style + star trail | ★彡 ᴍᴀʏᴀ 彡★ | Small capitals inside a shooting star |
| Style + corner brackets | 『 𝐌𝐚𝐲𝐚 』 | Bold letters in a Japanese-style bracket |
| Symbols between letters | M♥a♥y♥a | A heart sits between each letter |
| A bracket on every letter | 【M】【a】【y】【a】 | Each letter gets its own box-like bracket |
In the builder you can choose each part yourself, including a different style for every word.
Popular decorations and where they come from
Decorations are real characters borrowed from writing systems around the world. People picked them for their shape, and because they are standard Unicode, most phones can show them.
- Wings (꧁ ꧂ with ༺ ༻): ꧁ and ꧂ are ornamental marks from the Javanese script, and ༺ ༻ come from Tibetan. Side by side they look like a pair of wings, which made them the classic frame for names.
- Royal (꧁༒☬ … ☬༒꧂): adds the Tibetan mark ༒ and ☬, the Unicode symbol for the Sikh Khanda. Because ☬ is a religious symbol for many people, use it thoughtfully.
- Star trail (★彡): 彡 is a Chinese character made of three slanted strokes, so ★彡 reads as a shooting star.
- Aesthetic frame (˚₊‧꒰ა … ໒꒱ ‧₊˚): tiny dots and letters from other scripts arranged to look like a soft little frame.
- Hearts, flowers and sakura (♡ ✿ ❀): simple text symbols that usually display in the same colour as your text, not as colour emoji.
- Brackets (【 】 and 『 』): punctuation from Chinese and Japanese writing, popular for gaming tags and titles.
- Emoji frames (🔥 🎀 ⚡): colourful, but they look a little different on iPhone, Android and Windows because each company draws its own emoji.
Want to place these symbols yourself? You can copy them one by one, or collect several at once, on the copy and paste symbols page.
Fancy text ideas by occasion
Names and display names
One frame around one name is plenty. Wings and crowns are the most popular, but a simple star trail often looks cleaner on a small screen. For the decorated name styles that are popular on WhatsApp and Instagram, see stylish fonts.
Bios
Decorate a single line, usually the first one, and keep the rest plain. A soft frame with a thin cursive or small caps style suits calm bios; there are more pairings on the aesthetic fonts page.
Captions and greetings
Use a decorated heading and normal text below it. For birthday and festival wishes with extra sparkle, try the glitter text generator.
Gaming
Royal frames, swords, 亗 and the sniper symbol are favourites for game names. Games are strict about characters, so test your fancy name in a free field before paying for a rename. The stylish name generator also checks the length for your game.
| Occasion | Example | Tip |
|---|---|---|
| Profile name | ꧁༺ 𝓐𝓲𝓼𝓱𝓪 ༻꧂ | Keep the name inside readable |
| Bio first line | ˚₊‧꒰ა 𝓈ℴ𝒻𝓉 𝒹𝒶𝓎𝓈 ໒꒱ ‧₊˚ | Pair with one emoji, not five |
| Birthday caption | ✧・゚: * 𝑯𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒚 𝑩𝒊𝒓𝒕𝒉𝒅𝒂𝒚 * :・゚✧ | Put the wish itself in plain text below |
| Friendship post | ♡ 𝒷ℯ𝓈𝓉 𝒻𝓇𝒾ℯ𝓃𝒹𝓈 ♡ | Hearts suit short phrases |
| Music post | ♪♫ 𝘰𝘯 𝘳𝘦𝘱𝘦𝘢𝘵 ♫♪ | Add the song name in plain text |
| Night caption | ☾ ℊℴℴ𝒹 𝓃𝒾ℊ𝒽𝓉 ☽ | Calm styles fit calm frames |
| Gaming name | ꧁༒☬ 𝕾𝖍𝖆𝖉𝖔𝖜 ☬༒꧂ | Check the length limit first |
| Clan or team tag | 【 ᴘʀᴏ 】 | Brackets keep short tags neat |
| Small shop or page | 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗶 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗿™ | Just for fun: adding ™ does not register anything |
Where fancy text copy and paste works, and where it doesn't
Decorated text pastes into most bios, captions, comments and chats on Instagram, TikTok, WhatsApp, Discord, Facebook and X. A few things to watch:
- Usernames and handles almost never accept decorations. Use them in your display name instead.
- Character limits: a frame like ꧁༺ ༻꧂ adds several characters before your name even starts, and styled letters can count as two each. Pick your platform in the menu to see the true count.
- Games often reject ꧁ ꧂ or show them as boxes, and some charge for a name change.
- Search: decorated names are harder for people to find, so keep a plain version of your name somewhere on your profile.
Why part of your fancy text shows as boxes
A single decorated line can mix characters from five or six different scripts: Javanese wings, Tibetan marks, Chinese brackets, maths letters and emoji. If the reader's device lacks a font for just one of them, only that part turns into boxes. So you might see perfect wings around a row of empty squares, or neat letters between two boxes. The compatibility badge on each card warns you about riskier mixes, and simple frames like ♡ or ★ are the safest choice for older phones.
Frequently asked questions
What is fancy text?
Fancy text is ordinary words rewritten with special Unicode characters: lookalike letters in styles like cursive or gothic, often with decorative symbols around them. Because it is text and not an image, you can paste it into bios, names, captions and chats.
How do I put wings like ꧁ ꧂ around my name?
Type your name in the box, find a card with wings, and tap it to copy. If you want wings with a different font inside, tap Build on that card and change the style in the Name & Bio Builder.
Can I decorate my name without changing the font?
Yes. Copy the symbols you want from the symbols page, paste them into your app, and type your name between them in your normal keyboard letters. The builder also lets you add decorations and pick the style for each word.
What is the difference between fancy text and fancy fonts?
People often use the words for the same thing. On this site, fancy text means decorated text with frames and symbols, while fancy fonts is our catalogue of letter styles sorted by category.
Why does my game reject my decorated name?
Many games only allow a limited set of characters and block unusual symbols, or their in-game font cannot draw them. Rules differ between games and change over time, so try the name in a free field or chat before you spend anything on a rename.
Do decorations use up my character limit?
Yes. Every symbol in a frame is a character, and some apps count each styled letter as two. Choose your platform in the menu to see how many characters you have left.
Will fancy text look the same on every phone?
Not exactly. Each device draws characters with its own fonts, so symbols and emoji can look slightly different, and older devices may show some parts as boxes. Cards marked "Works almost everywhere" are the most consistent.
