Free Fire Name Generator

Use this Free Fire name generator to turn your nickname into a stylish FF name with symbols and fonts, and check that it fits the nickname limit before you copy it.

How to make a Free Fire name style

  1. Type the name you want, for example Killer, Raja or Pari.
  2. Keep the length filter on Free Fire, so you only see versions that fit the nickname box.
  3. Browse the styles: royal frames, 亗 tags, small caps, sniper symbols and more. Tap "random name ideas" if you're stuck.
  4. Tap a name to copy it. This FF name generator only gives you text; nothing is linked to your game account.
  5. Open Free Fire, paste it into the nickname box and check how it looks before you pay for anything.

Free Fire nickname length: symbols count too

A Free Fire nickname is currently about 12 characters long, and the game counts every symbol, space and decoration. A big wing frame spends around six characters before your name even starts, so a long name plus a big frame simply won't fit.

Fancy letters can also count double. Letters like 𝓚 or 𝕶 come from a distant part of Unicode, and many systems count each one as two characters. Small caps such as ᴋɪʟʟᴇʀ are usually counted as one per letter, which is one reason they are so popular in FF names. The length filter counts the strict way, but the nickname box in the game always has the final word.

How to change your name in Free Fire

  1. In the lobby, tap your profile banner at the top left.
  2. Tap the edit (pencil) icon next to your nickname.
  3. Paste your new name and check that every symbol shows.
  4. Choose how to pay: a Name Change Card or diamonds.
  5. Confirm. The new name normally appears straight away.

At the time of writing, a rename without a card has commonly been priced at 390 diamonds. Name Change Cards have been available in the store in exchange for guild tokens plus a few diamonds, and as rewards in some events. Garena changes prices and rewards, so read the amount on the screen before you tap confirm.

Test before you pay. If you pay for a name and then see boxes in the lobby, fixing it means paying again. Paste the name, look closely for boxes or question marks, and only then confirm.

Guild names and squad tags

Guild names have their own, shorter limit, currently around 12 characters, so pick one short word and at most one small symbol. Many guilds also agree on a shared tag that every member adds to their own nickname, like 亗 or ツ, or a short code in brackets such as 【 ᴛꜱᴋ 】. It looks organised in the kill feed and makes new members feel part of the team.

Need a starting point? Try Night Wolves, Desi Squad, Silent Kings, Lotus Army or Booyah Gang. Style one word and keep the rest plain, so other players can still find your guild.

Free Fire name symbols that show as boxes or get rejected

Free Fire draws names with its own in-game font. If that font is missing a character, you see an empty box or a question mark, even though the same name looked fine on your keyboard. Players on older phones may see boxes where you don't. Emoji may be refused in the nickname box, and the bad-word filter also checks names, including words dressed up in fancy letters.

If a style fails, go simpler: small caps instead of cursive, one 亗 instead of a big frame. For more game-friendly characters, see the symbols page, the star symbols and the small text generator.

The invisible name trick: know the risks

You may have seen players with a "blank" name. They use an invisible character instead of letters, and the tool's invisible-space helper can give you one. Think twice before paying for it: Garena can block these characters at any time, a name that works today may stop working later, and friends can't search for an empty name. Using a blank name to hide or to copy someone else can also break the game's rules. A safer use is one invisible space between a symbol and your name. Read more on the invisible character page.

Fancy fonts aren't only for games. Our main fancy font generator has 400+ styles for bios and chats.

Frequently asked questions

How many characters can a Free Fire name have?

Currently about 12 characters. Symbols and spaces count, and some fancy letters count as two. The game may change this, so trust the nickname box in the game.

How much does it cost to change my name in Free Fire?

One Name Change Card, or diamonds if you have no card. The diamond price has commonly been 390, but it can change, so check the screen before you confirm.

Can I change my Free Fire name for free?

Only with a Name Change Card. Cards have come from events and from the guild token store, so keep an eye on the event tab and your guild rewards.

Why does my Free Fire name show a question mark or a box?

The game's font doesn't have that character. Replace that one symbol, or switch the letters to small caps, which tend to display well on most phones.

Someone already has my name. What can I do?

Nicknames usually have to be unique. Adding a symbol, a frame or a different letter style often makes the name available again. Don't copy a well-known player's name exactly.

Which symbols are safest for an FF name style?

Small caps, 亗, ツ, ★ and the ꧁ ꧂ wings are widely used in Free Fire names. Even so, test each one in the nickname box first, because support can change between updates.

Does the same name work in Free Fire MAX?

Free Fire MAX normally uses the same account and nickname as Free Fire, so the same name and length limit apply.
